About Us
Founded in 1980, the Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (IL-HPCO) is committed to promoting and enhancing end-of-life care in the state of Illinois, through education, advocacy, technical and supportive services. Our mission is to expand access to exceptional hospice and palliative care for patients and families coping with the close of life experience.
About our Logo: The Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization logo represents the many facets of hospice. As the gold standard of end-of-life care, the logo shows the closing of life's circle and the home which hospice patients prefer to receive their care. As the recognized authority in Illinois regarding end-of-life issues, IL-HPCO advocates for quality care and works to transform the perception of death into understanding that dying is a critical state of living.
The logo was created by a former board member, Karen Morgan, and a friend both in the PR industry. If you look closely you can see a face within the circle upon which is the roof of a home. The face represents the patients and loved ones we serve.
